To date we have collected an impressive 92
turkey donations, but that’s not nearly enough!
With increased costs in food, fuel, gas, and overall tough
economic times, NOW MORE THAN EVER
the
GBFB is in need of contributions.
With Thanksgiving just one
week away and the winter months
approaching, thoughts of warm Sunday afternoon dinners and
of holiday meals bring happy thoughts to our minds…and to
our hearts.
But many of us aren’t so lucky, and that’s
where you can help!
For a mere $15 you
can purchase a turkey dinner to help feed a hungry family in
Massachusetts.
Through the generosity of the MMA Community Service
Committee and Family Choice Mortgage,
a drawing to win a two-night stay for up to 6
people at the Nordic Inn in the heart of the White
Mountains-Lincoln, NH is being
offered as part of this year’s drive. For every turkey
dinner donated, one entry will be placed in the drawing on
your behalf!

LOAN OFFICER LICENSING
If you applied for your
Loan Originator license after 5/27/08 (and therefore, are
NOT grandfathered under the statute for the pre-licensing
requirement) or you are a new Loan Originator, you must take
the 24-hour Residential Mortgage Lending Course
prior to receiving final approval for your license.
IF
YOU FAIL to take the course you
will forfeit the licensing fees you have already paid and be
prohibited from acting as a loan officer until such time as
you complete the course, re-apply for your license and
receive your approval.
The
Massachusetts Mortgage Education Council (“MMEC” which is an
MMA/MMBA joint council) is offering the 24-hour
approved course on December 3rd, 4th & 5th.

24-HOUR COURSE
All
continuing education requirements for grandfathered Loan
Originators must be completed by the end of 2009.
The original requirement date was December 31, 2008,
however, your association leaders negotiated an extension of
that date to try and reduce some of the overall licensing
burden. In addition,
ALL 2008
continuing education credits of approved programs will be
carried from 2008 and apply to 2009. So, if you have
already taken a 2008 CE approved course,
or take any approved CEU courses this year -
they are good for
2009.
