APPLYING FOR A MORTGAGE BROKER,  MORTGAGE LENDER

 LOAN ORIGINATOR LICENSE

 

 

MORTGAGE  BROKER OR MORTGAGE LENDER


The Division of Banks licenses mortgage lenders and brokers pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws chapter 255E and its implementing regulations found at 209 CMR 42.00 et seq. Applicants who are interested in pursuing a license to become a mortgage lender or broker should carefully review all laws, regulations, and regulatory bulletins governing mortgage companies prior to submitting an application.

 

 

MORTGAGE LOAN ORIGINATOR

The Division of Banks licenses mortgage loan originators pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws chapter 255F Applicants who are interested ted in pursuing a license to become a mortgage lender or broker should carefully review all laws, regulations, and regulatory bulletins governing mortgage companies prior to submitting an application.

 

If you are a new Loan Originator, the Division is requesting that individuals take the course prior to application, as the course certificate should be presented to the
Division within 5 days of application, along with the other requirements
set forth in the New Application Checklist.

 

You have 2 years from completion of the course to apply for a license without having to take the course again. 

 

All continuing education requirements for grandfathered Loan Originators must be completed by the end of 2009 In addition, ALL 2008 continuing education credits of approved programs will be carried from 2008 and apply to 2009.  So, if you have already taken a 2008 CE approved course, or take any approved CEU courses this year - They are good for 2009.
